EditorThe year was 2000 and my mother was putting together a few collages for my high school open house. She had sifted through 100’s of pictures of me growing up. When we finished there had to have been a third of the pictures that were taken by me. I hadn’t realized how much I enjoyed taking pictures over the years. I enjoyed capturing moments in time, even if they were senseless and didn’t need to be remembered. We then moved onto old video tapes and again had the same pattern. I had taken control of the camera the majority of the time, filming my family, our pets, and a lot of myself. This was like picture taking on steroids. I didn’t realize at the time that I was taking [29.97 pictures a second with film, but that would come later]. Through out that day my mom and I shared a whole lot of laughs and tears. It was in those moments that we were reliving important and random times in our lives. Those pictures I took and the video I captured all of a sudden became a beautiful set of memories, story booking our lives up until that point.
To this day I have not stopped capturing the important & random moments in my life and those around me. It has become a creative outlet. I’m able to tell stories and truly touch people’s lives by creating a lasting memory they’d otherwise forget. This passion in me didn’t really explode until I joined the Epic Motion team back when the company was just getting off the ground. Ryan and I didn’t know much at the time, but we knew we were following a passion that couldn’t be held down. And that is what Epic Motion really is…passion. At Epic Motion I’m given the opportunity to tell peoples’ love stories through film and pictures. As an editor I often feel like I know the couple when I’ve completed their film. I think this is key and where Epic Motion sets itself apart. It’s the ability to create a personalized film that tells a love story in a way it’s never been told before.
Outside of editing, my love is my family. I have been married for 7 years to a truly amazing woman and have 3 beautiful girls ages 5, 3, & 7 months. We treasure life and try to live it to the fullest. When I’m not editing I’m dancing in our living room to the latest Disney princess tune with my girls, changing a diaper, reading a story, snuggling up on the couch watching movies, etc… My family is my life. They are my motivation to get up and work and the reason I am who I am today.
