The Wedding Film of Lindsey + Jim

The most important part of our job is capturing the story. This includes the story of the couple and the little stories that happen throughout the day. I love this film because you really get a sense of Lindsey and Jim – their relationship and their love for one another. I love the message the Lindsey wrote for Jim in his gift. I also LOVE the part when they get introduced into the reception and Jim JUMPS. SO cool to see that excitement coming from the dude. A couple other great moments included the chicken dance at Lindsey’s parents’ house with a real live accordion and if you’ve seen the bloopers on their finished film, you would love the flip that one of the bridesmaids does sort of un-successfully (so funny)!

Anyway, Meadowbrook Hall is always gorgeous. I think we were sort of the “house band” in 2009 filming there seven or eight times last year. We also shot with Patrick from Special Moments for the first time… and he let us borrow some pretty cool lenses that day – THANK, Patrick!!

And a quick blurb from Lindsey’s email to us: “We are absolutely in love with the wedding video!!!”

The Wedding Highlight Film of Tara Jean + Nate

Tara and Nate. What can I say about these guys?? They are without a doubt, two of the most fun and awesome people I’ve had the chance to work with. The day was just a blast, there’s no better way to say it.

I think it’s safe to say that Tara is a little different then your average bride. Instead of wearing a pretty shoe on her left foot, she instead opted for a very lovely walking cast… (a word of advice, be careful how much fun you have at your bachelorette party.)

I’ve been a part of Epic Motion for just over a year now, and this wedding was one of firsts for me as both first shooter and producer of their highlight reel. So fun!!! We also were able to shoot with some of our favorite photographers, Prem and Cheridy from Arising Images.

Kristen + Shannon’s Pine Knob Mansion Wedding Film Highlights

Kristen and Shannon had a super cool – and detail filled – wedding at Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston. Kristen is now an “official” wedding planner and definitely has skills to pull off a gorgeous event (check out her blog here)… including a pink Hummer, a Superman wedding ring (nice, Shannon!), and that cake!

Amanda + Rob’s Highlight Reel

People don’t have to wonder for a long time about why we love our jobs so much. Spending the day with Rob and Amanda proved to be another reason why. Beautiful couple, family, friends… and they stand for Love. The grounds at Scripps Mansion were AMAZING. The rain made the day more eventful. And working with friends like Lindsey Nartker, Melissa Patterson, and our homie Evis make the day even more enjoyable.

The party continued on to Lovett Hall at the Henry Ford where these guys and their bridal party had a crazy fun entrance. And when the moment was perfect, we played their surprise Same Day Edit video which sealed the deal on a perfect event for us.

Rebecca + Rob’s Highlight Reel from The Inn at St. John’s

These two were hilarious. I mean – you have to watch their entrance into the reception… super fun/ny. Loved ‘em. We had a great time at their party and we really enjoyed watching them watch their same day edit (we’ll post the reactions soon). Working alongside Prem and Cheridy from Arising Images is always a joy – we have so much fun that our clients don’t have much choice but to have fun, too. Thanks to the Inn at St. John’s for being beautiful and thank you Emerald City Designs for making us all a bit more beautiful!

Kara + Andrew’s Highlight Reel

The sweet Kara and Andrew had an intimate ceremony at Vinology in Ann Arbor and their reception was held at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth.

Bessie and Sina’s Highlights from The Detroit Opera House

The Detroit Opera House is an AMAZING venue for a wedding. Bessie and Sina’s wedding was no-joke GOR.GE.OUS (I think I just made that word into three words. It’s fine, right?).. from the people to the place, seriously gorgeous.

One of my favorite moments of the day is when they saw each other for the first time. This usually is one of my highlights… it’s a moment of raw emotion. Very, very precious.

We’re also big fans of Arising Images. They took some AMAZING shots throughout the day. Here’s a link to see some pictures…

Sam’s Bar Mitzvah Cinematic Highlights

Sam had a sa-weeeet bar mitzvah at the Townsend Hotel in downtown Birmingham. It was a seriously cool party. From the talented Avy Schreiber who entertained the kids in the main area and then played an after party for the adults to shooting alongside all-star photographer and friend Laurie Tennent and the unforgettable songs by Dad and his friend – the Townsend was the place to be in B-ham that night!

Michigan Wedding Spotlight – Kendall + Austin’s Highlight Video

Kendall and Austin’s wedding took place in Troy, Michigan at Kensington Community Church and they partied it up in the Hills of Rochester at the Brookwood Golf Club. One of our favorite photographers - Aruna B – captured SO many stinkin’ cute pictures of these two…

Kendall and Austin – this is one of the most beautiful wedding films we’ve ever created. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. Destination Wedding Video – Virgin Islands w/ Joe Simon Productions

One of the highlights of my year has been shooting destination weddings with some GREAT wedding filmmakers – namely Joe Simon from Austin, Texas and Andrew Hsu from San Jose, California. The most recent shoot was with Joe in the Virgin Islands. Joe had told me prior that he was shooting a “wedding on a boat…” in the Virgin Islands of all places. I was like, “Seriously?! Sign me up – and I’ll ask my wife later…” What sealed the deal was that I was able to bring my wife Andrea along for the trip which was super, super-rad.

The couple – Kim and Adam had secured the cruise ship for 3 nights – one day we shot the rehearsal, one day was the wedding, and the final day I filmed a session w/ Kim and Adam on the beach – oh – and don’t forget about the champagne and caviar they shared in waste deep ocean water on the beach of some hot little island. Seriously. Awesome.

Along with Joe, we worked with some really cool photogs – the guys from Table 4 (Jason and Andrew) based in Austin, Texas and Kim Le from Kim Le Photography in Southern California.

SeaDream Yacht – THANK YOU – for a time that we will never forget! Kim and Adam – you guys ROCK… thank you for your kindness and your hospitality. And thanks, Joe – you are incredibly gifted and I’m so honored that you had us join you for the ride on this one! Wedding-video-filmography-movies will never be the same. Hehe.
