Angela and Abe: The 700 Person Wedding at The Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, MI

This was HUGE and it was sweeeet! First off – Angela and Abe – you two were incredibly kind, fun, cute – all that stuff. It was a joy to be with your family and friends – boy, do you guys know how to have a fun time! (We didn’t leave until 12am and I don’t think ANYONE stopped dancing the whole night!)

When I first met Abe and Angela, they both were so excited to tell me about their wedding day… how important family and friends are to them and how they were looking forward to everyone being together at the party. And they were there. EVERYONE. Seven hundred people! I couldn’t believe it! It was awesome. Angela from Event Source Productions was meticulous with the details and did a fantastic job pulling an event this size together.

The ceremony was at St. Mary’s Orthodox church in Livonia and the reception was held at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi in the Diamond Center ballroom.

Here are some fun facts from the wedding:
1. Angela was crowned Miss Michigan 2006. I don’t know a lot about pageants, but what I learned is that they aren’t all about how pretty a girl is… although, Angela is extremely beautiful, she has such a sweet and gentle spirit along with a great personality.
2. Abe is a genius. He videotaped his proposal to Angela with a hidden camera and they had us set up a couple of projectors and big screens to show this proposal right before they were introduced into the reception… I thought it was a really cool idea and was something that makes their story (and their day) unique.
3. My friend John Pottenger from Coastline Studios came out and helped us film along with my friend Matt Darcie who ran all things technical (projectors/screens/dvds/etc.). You guys rock!
4. Miss America 2008 was in attendance at the wedding – Kirsten Haglund – and she asked for MY autograph! Since I don’t do autographs anymore, I hesitantly declined. Hehe.
5. The Best of Detroit (Photographers and Videographers) were also in attendence. Congrats to our friends Prem and Cheridy who won Best Photographers (second year running). It’s always great working alongside of them. Here’s a picture that our friend Mary Ann Ross took.
