We had an unbelievable time in Cancun. I want to go back. Now. And the snow in Detroit is only encouraging me to do so even more.
We reached out to Stacie Francombe of Inspire Smart Success months ago about filming this ISSE event, but she already had someone lined up. I got a phone call 3 or 4 weeks ago from Stacie, “Ryan… our video team isn’t able to make it to Mexico. Are you still available?” Christmas came early for Epic Motion :)
Quick side note: There were so many great people we met… and the sessions really were inspiring… as was the team behind the scenes that made it all happen. Congratulations, Stacie and team for a job well done.
Here’s the edit we played at the Gala on Wednesday night.
There will be more to come… in the mean time, let us know what you think!
We were very excited when the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce accepted our offer to come and be a part of last nights Ford Arts, Beats & Eats Charity Preview, Arts du Jour at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Since this was a charity event we jumped at the chance to donate our time in creating this next day edit. The Chamber’s Scholarship Fund was one of 9 local charities benefitting from Arts du Jour, and we hope that the time we put in will benefit each and everyone of them!
The festival is such a huge event for the Metro Detroit region and as a business in Royal Oak we are happy to be a part of it. If you haven’t been before, make it a point to check out this year’s Arts, Beats & Eats festival!
Here is a little background on the event straight from the Arts du Jour site:
Arts du Jour is the annual charity preview event for Ford Arts, Beats & Eats. In its 9th year, Arts du Jour will benefit TEN Metro Detroit charities by raising money and increasing awareness and outreach for the organizations making a difference through art and entertainment. Charities receive a minimum of 75% of the proceeds of all ticket sales, and over $2.5 million has been raised for local charities from Ford Arts, Beats & Eats and related events. Please join us to continue making a positive impact! The Royal Oak Farmers Market will be transformed into to a 20,000 square foot performing arts and party pavillion providing the backdrop for an evening that will indulgence, provoke & delight the senses!

Hope. It’s something we all desire. It’s something we all need.
This is Hope’s story.
Thank you to Hope and her mom+sister for sharing their lives with so many. Their story is encouraging and inspiring. The thing that I love so much about it is that going in, I thought the Boys and Girls Club would just be a great place and a great help for “boys and girls” – but in Andrea’s case (Hope’s mom), she explains how without the Boys and Girls Club – she’s not sure where she would be today… the club is a place that serves students – but also a place that literally saves families.
The idea for the project came out of our internship program and we’re very excited to have had Intern Amanda take the lead on this project. It came out beautifully and we are so proud of her. If you are interested in an internship, please email intern@epicmotion.com and tell us why you think you’d make a great intern.
This is a very special family session we were able to be a part of last fall thanks to our friend Miranda at Inner Circle Photography. Please check out her post and contact her if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
This is an email we received from Laura Davis of Laura Davis Events — it’s worth checking out for you local brides:
My friend, Karen Sherman of Crowning Glory, asked me to be a part of a unique trunk show for couture bridal accessories, and I’m excited to share the details. …
Over the past four years I have taken on an active role in the Detroit chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives. It has been a great experience for us. Here’s a testimonial piece we put together to help people understand a little more about the value of the organization.
Day two’s recap includes some AMAZING karaoke skills by our own Eric as well as some great takeaways from some of the attendees of the conference – after all – that’s why you gals went to Eventology in the first place, right? But it will be the karaoke that brings you back – Eric is sure of it.
OH – if you’re looking for the bloopers, stay tuned… the extended edition will be online soon. We’re still accepting monetary gifts to avoid potential embarrassment for some of you… hehe
Sam had a sa-weeeet bar mitzvah at the Townsend Hotel in downtown Birmingham. It was a seriously cool party. From the talented Avy Schreiber who entertained the kids in the main area and then played an after party for the adults to shooting alongside all-star photographer and friend Laurie Tennent and the unforgettable songs by Dad and his friend – the Townsend was the place to be in B-ham that night!
Here’s a voicemail we received from Sam’s mom Diane: Mom’s voicemail
(I think they liked it….)
Here it is… the much anticipated ShutterBooth promotional video… we LOVE ShutterBooth – and we think they are the best in the biz. Consider having them at your next event! If you’re not sure why – watch the video!
If you want to watch the extended version – here it is.
I will end with a quote from a good friend of mine: “ShutterBooth changed my life.” – Nolan Gottschalk
Michigan Design Center put together this great holiday decorating and entertaining event by asking the super talented David McKnight and his Emerald City Designs team to share some practical things people can do to prepare for the upcoming holidays.
We’ve worked with Emerald City Designs many times before and we’re always amazed at their skills at transforming churches, tents, reception halls, etc. into AMAZING spaces for weddings and other events. We knew they’d do a sweet job… check out the video for a brief recap of the event.
