Our plane just landed a little bit ago. I started thinking about what I would write in this post to try and describe this weekend’s same day edit in St. Louis with Stacie and Ben and their family+friends. In one sentence, I would say it was nothing short of amazing. In one word I would say it was: epic.
A favorite moment of mine was right before Stacie and her dad walked down the aisle, I caught them both crying in the lobby… so beautiful to capture the closeness of their relationship.
Another favorite thing was Stacie singing at the ceremony… I was a little nervous when she first told Eric and I that she would be singing “Bless the Broken Road” – just thinking it was sort of cliche… but when she shared more of her story with us during our time at Town Tavern, it made perfect sense. The lyrics really hold deep meaning for her and those close to her and Ben. It was awesome. We kept hearing people say how moving it was.
We flew to St. Louis on Friday and filmed a dinner rehearsal and then the wedding Saturday at the Ritz Carlton. Had a great time working with Ben’s cousin Scott and his guys John and Brad as well as the AMAZING coordinator from the Ritz – Robin. She couldn’t have been any kinder and any more awesome.
I’m not sure how many times they said, “THANK YOU” to us – probably close to a million… but each time it was said, I kept thinking to myself, “You’re thanking me… yet – we feel the same. THANK YOU for trusting us to capture these amazing people and this amazing event for you.”
I don’t think I’ll ever tire of this job. It’s a gift for us as much as it is our amazing clients.
